What are Reborn Art Dolls?
Reborn dolls are 3D works of art that have been created by an artist to look and feel like a real baby. Reborning is a relatively new art form in the history of art. Originally artists would take a store bought doll and strip off the factory paint. They would then repaint the doll to create the look of a real baby, hence the doll was “reborn”. Today artists have a variety of unpainted doll kits, created by talented sculptors, to choose from to reborn. Babies are painted in many layers with incredible detail. The hair is either micro-rooted into the head, painted, or the baby can be left bald. During assembly the babies are weighted to give them the feeling of a real baby. Reborn Art Dolls are not toys, but rather works of art for collectors to enjoy and display.

Materials Used
Amarantine Babies uses only the highest quality materials when creating a reborn art doll. Babies are made from vinyl kits and are painted with Heat Set Paints for permanency. Babies are filled with soft polyester filling and micro glass beads to create the feeling of a real baby. Occasionally ground vinyl or poly-pellets are used in the limbs of babies that have a very soft vinyl sculpt. Silicone inserts or pellets, and steel pellets are also sometimes used only in the cloth body.

About the Artist
Lisa May Williams stumbled upon reborn dolls online in 2017 and fell in love with the art. She created her first baby that year and hasn’t stopped since. She has taken many reborn classes online, classes through tutorials, and in-person classes. She received her Master Artist Degree through C.O.R.A. (The College of Reborn Artistry) in 2018.
